I was born and raised in Northern Michigan and grew up in a close, Italian family of five. My Mom taught second grade and Dad was a High School guidance counselor for many years. I was the youngest and have two sisters Lynda and Wendy. (Lynda made it to heaven ahead of all of us when she was just 24) The best part of having parents in education was having summers off! Spending time at our summer cottage at the lake was a favorite family activity. I taught myself to play the drums and participated in jazz band. I graduated from Kingsford High School and while there, lettered in four varsity sports, played the drums, and was even voted Homecoming King my senior year. (this matter underwent extensive investigation, which eventually came to an end, as year by year, those investigating the matter either graduated or retired.) I attended Northern Michigan University and majored in TV/Radio Broadcasting. One life-changing decison I made was to go on tour for three years as a drummer with Florida-based bands, "Free Fare" and "Freedom Jam". I learned SO much during those nine-month tours, and met some wonderful people from Young American Showcase and from all over this beautiful country.Eventually I moved to Southern California and lived there for 18 years...which, considering the cost, stress, heat, smog, and traffic, was WAY too long for a small town Midwestern boy! Less than two years after I moved, my Dad passed away from Cancer when he was 62. This rocked my world and caused me to reevaluate my life, priorities, and especially my faith. I ended up re-dedicating my life to Jesus Christ in the late 80's. Fast forward (temporarily) all the way to 2001. I married the love of my life, Rosanna, who grew up in Toronto, Canada. She's a Contemporary Christian Recording Artist and has a successful music ministry. We met when she came to sing at my (then) church on a guest worship team. We are perfect for each other. (notice I did not say WE are perfect!) After so long out west, I sure missed the four seasons, a simpler life, and real people. I've been a Packer fan for years and went to games as a kid with my Dad, so it was both a surprise and a thrill deciding to move to the Green Bay area and currently work in Christian radio in Wisconsin.
In my early years back in California, I did extensive acting training, worked as a model and did TV commercials. I joined a Christian rock band in Orange County and played for six years in our spare time. I worked at my first Christian radio station in 1990 in Anaheim. To support these other careers and interests, l also worked "a real job" as a restaurant manager until the mid 90's. I worked trade shows for Roland Corporation for a few years, flying to several major cities around the country. As an actor, my first speaking role on television was on The Young and The Restless in 1989. I played a limosine driver and my line was, "Excuse me...where would you like all the bags?" My longest recurring role was as a doctor (several times a month) on General Hospital from 1998 - 2003. These were "bit" parts and I wasn't given a name so they called me "Doctor". I often worked in the ER or nurses station. I moved to Los Angeles in the late 90's and decided to get more training as an actor. One thrill was working on Bob Hope's 90th Birthday TV Special on NBC. Another highlight was starring in a 2003 Indie film that premeired at Disney Studios in Burbank, CA.
I've worked off and on for almost twenty years in television and radio and it's a very competitive, tough, yet rewarding industry. It's a blessing to be able to still act on occasion in the Midwest. In radio, I've worked at six stations in three states, both as an on air personality and Promotions director, and currently work at Q90 FM in Green Bay with a staff I love and a mission that is inspiring. When Rosanna and I are able, I love travelling together for work or vacation. I play drums for her when she's booked by a church or festival to perform a concert or lead worship. We currently live in and love Appleton, WI. Thanks for reading and God bless!
